The island of Dilos is the largest natural island of ancient treasures. No other island has so many monuments of Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic times. The island has many ancient buildings such as: the road of Lions with marble lions, the temple of Isis, inside which there is a statue of the patron saints of sailors, the house of Dionysus with the famous mosaics, the house of Cleopatra, the house of Dioskuridi and the ancient theater with a capacity of 6500 people. A museum was built on the island where many ancient artifacts that were found on the island were collected. According to legend, Zeus faced the wrath of Hera (Zeus' wife) because of his love for Leto and asked Poseidon to help him find some shelter for her. Poseidon took the invisible rock Adilos and found a fairly sheltered place among the other islands and renamed it Dilos.
