Loutra Pozar is located in the village of Loutraki Pella, a resort town located at the foot of Mount Kaimaktsalan. It is 10 km from historic Aridea and about 33 km from the small but beautiful city with canals and waterfalls of Edessa. The area is located on the banks of a river crossing the gorge and is an ideal place for those who want to combine the healing properties of the warm waterfalls with physical and mental relaxation in nature. Thermal warm waters with a constant temperature of 37 °C have been gushing for thousands of years, with healing properties and a spectacular scenery. For decades, tourists have been coming to Loutra Pozar to take a dip in the thermal waters and enjoy the incomparable natural beauty and historical heritage of central Macedonia. According to many scientists, spa treatment is considered to be the first form of treatment tried by man for various diseases. The ancient Greeks were the first to use baths for hygiene. Asclepions (hospitals) built in ancient Greece were intended exclusively for the treatment of the sick, so they were built near thermal springs. The first observers of these healing springs were the historian Herodotus and the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates. They noticed the effects of cold and hot baths on the human body when the thermal waters were used properly. And they also made a chart on the pressing of baths according to the classification of thermal spring water, by color, smell and taste. Pozar Festival attracts thousands of fans every year among the summer music festivals in Greece.
