Kalamaki Beach

The beach is located in the southern part of the island and 5 km from the capital of Zakynthos. It is quite long and wide sandy beach with golden fine sand. Nearby is another beautiful beach called Laganas. The shallow water of Kalamaki beach makes it a good option for swimming with children, the deep water starts about 100 meters from the shore. The beach belongs to the National Marine Park, so there are appropriate conservation measures, as turtles have taken over part of the beach and lay their eggs there. For vacationers, the entrance is open from 7 am to 7 pm. The beach is organized with umbrellas, sun loungers and water activities. Next to the beach, there is a restaurant offering local specialties.
