Blue Caves

Besides Navagio Bay, the Blue Caves are the calling card of the island of Zakynthos. The Blue Caves are one of the most famous natural attractions of the island. They are located in the northeast of the island and can be visited by boat, by sightseeing boat or by swimming. The caves are a rare geological phenomenon where many grottoes and bizarre caves are formed in steep cliffs. Some are large enough that a small boat will allow you to view this beauty from the inside, while others are accessible to divers and people who swim well underwater. Unusual stone arches, a man-made miracle formed by sea waves. Locals recommend visiting the Blue Caves in the evening or at dawn, when the rays of sunlight hit the caves and they reveal all their beauty. The fabulous caves are inaccessible from the land, but only from the sea, and their depth is on average four meters. It is not recommended to visit the caves in stormy weather: bathing on such days becomes dangerous. The waters of the snow-white caves contain a lot of calcium and minerals, so they have a beneficial effect on the skin.
