The Neda is a 32 km long river in the Peloponnese peninsula, which originates from Mount Lycaeus and flows into the Ionian Sea. On its way it crosses a ravine with lush vegetation, and along it waterfalls and small natural lakes are created. The largest waterfall is located near the village of Figalia and its height reaches 25 meters. Neda Waterfalls is a very popular place that attracts a lot of tourists, especially in summer. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid visiting the waterfalls during the peak tourist season. There are two ways to reach the waterfalls, either from the village of Figaleia (near the ruins of the walls of ancient Figaleia and the temple of Athena and Zeus Sotiros) or from the village of Platania. Both routes pass through picturesque green hillsides covered with olive trees, figs, plane trees, wild oaks and holly.
