The Askos Stone Park opened to the public in March 2002 and is located in the north of the island of Zakynthos, 1 km from the port of Agios Nikolaos Volimon. The park covers an area of 500 hectares, of which only 100 hectares are open to the public. The remaining areas are used for pastures, production of fodder without fertilizers and other chemicals, as well as for the cultivation of various fruit trees for the production of real products such as jams, sweets and much more. In the park, one can explore the flora and fauna with many plants, shrubs and trees. In this wonderful place you can see many different animals such as deer, turkeys, raccoons, llamas, ponies, chinchillas, peacocks, swans, wild hawks and other animals and birds. In many places in the park there are various stone structures such as old stone houses (stables), centuries-old stone wells and various buildings made of stone and wood that harmonize with the environment.
