Portes Beach
Just south of Astros beach is Portes beach, it gets its name from the Portes Meligos neighborhood. It is only 3 minutes by car from the center of Astros and 10 minutes by bike, part of the way along a dirt road. The beach is coarse sand and pebbles with cool and crystal clear sea. The beach is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, there are strong winds in the area so the beach is suitable for sailing. Nearby are the ruins of the "Porta" construction from the time of King Otto of Greece.
