Ovires Rogovo or Papingo Rock Pools are natural pools in Zagori, formed as a result of soil erosion by the Rogovo Creek. At an altitude of 980 meters, wild eroded rocks surround small ponds that collect crystal clear water and small waterfalls complete the landscape. The area is bordered by dense wild forests and by inaccessible mountainous areas, which are a refuge for many mammals. And if you are lucky you will notice different kinds of birds that live in the forest among oaks, beeches, lindens, maples and many rare species of flowers. There are also predators in the forest, as the Timfi Gorge is not far away, so there are bears, wolves, deer, wild cats, foxes, badgers, ferrets and hares. In winter the water freezes and turns into ice masterpieces, and in summer you can cool off in one of the lakes, although the water is very cold.
