Laganas Beach

Laganas is the most popular resort of the island and is located 8 km from the capital of Zakynthos. The village stretches along a natural bay and has an excellent infrastructure. The beach has a great selection of water sports, bars, snack bars and taverns. It is the most crowded place on the island during the day and night, thanks to the bars and clubs. The local beach is protected by Greek and international legislation, and the home of the endangered turtle species Caretta Caretta is part of the Greek National Park. There are turtle excursions on the beach, and those who want to take a ride on a catamaran or a boat with a transparent bottom. And if you decide to swim on your own, you can find turtle eggs on the bottom, in appearance they resemble table tennis balls. The highlight of the resort is the small rocky islet of Agios Sostis, located opposite the beach of Agios Sostis, which is accessed by a wooden bridge.
