Arsanas Beach

Arsanas is one of the most unusual beaches of Thassos. It is located near Livadi beach, in the southeastern part of the island. The beach is difficult to access, but the charming place will reward you for your efforts. You can get here either by a dirt road, which at one point turns into a path, or by boat. The turquoise waters of the beach will rejuvenate your soul and body, as underwater springs flow in the area. The beach with white fine sand and clear blue sea is a true oasis. The beach is organized with umbrellas, deck chairs and a small tavern. Near the beach there are two springs with bubbling cold water.  The somewhat strange name of Arsanas comes from the Monastery of Archangel Michael, which is located just above the coast and is a paraphrase of the word "dockyard", as the port used to be the dockyard of the monastery.
