Megali Ammos Beach
A sandy beach with golden yellow sand, both on the beach and in the sea. The clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea are shallow, making this beach ideal for children and adults. Megali Ammos is an organized beach with sun loungers, umbrellas and showers, and at the other end of the beach there is a small pier for fishing boats. The beach is close to the airport, giving you the opportunity to watch the spectacular airplane landings. Watch out for Loggerhead turtles laying eggs on the beach, and these areas are fenced off with tape.
