Aliki Beach

Aliki Beach is located on the southeastern part of the island, opposite the village of Aliki and has a rich historical past. The beach is divided into two parts, one organized and the other not. On the beach, there are umbrellas with sun loungers and taverns where you can remove your thirst with a cold drink and taste the local cuisine and delicacies. The picturesque coves shelter the fishing boats of local fishermen, which adds to the local scenic beauty. The crystal clear water, sand, and cliffs at the edge of the beach make the scenery so rare that many consider the coastline to be one of the best on the island. In ancient times there was a vibrant life here and this can be seen from the preserved monuments such as marble quarry, caves, etc. There are still ancient quarries that were intensively used during the Roman Empire. Two bays in Aliki are known as ports, from where white marble of high quality was exported in ancient times. Here the marble was processed and loaded onto ships from the 6th century BC until the 6th century AD. The huge stones can still be seen in the sea.
