Petani Beach

Petani beach is definitely one of the best beaches on the island, that even many people compare it to Myrtos beach. Turquoise water, fine pebbles, green nature. Its name comes from the Homeric word "epietani", which means an area with plenty of water throughout the year, as there are many springs in the area. Therefore, the sea water here is cool, even during the hottest days of summer. The beach is located near Lixouri, on the western side of the Paliki peninsula. Two cliffs on the sides of the beach act as walls separating the beach from the rest of the shore. On the left side of the beach is a hidden small beach called Kyria Anna, in honor of the woman who according to legend drowned here while trying to save her child in the raging sea. The beach is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds, tavernas and cafés, but if you have the chance to stay on the beach until the evening, you will be enchanted by the sunset.
